Video Agent

Table of Contents

Video Agent lets your users generate professional videos from plain-language descriptions. Users describe the video they want, choose an avatar, voice, look, and brand, and the system produces a fully rendered video. It is accessible from the side menu under Video Agent. Powered by HeyGen.

Requirements
  • Installation: Install Video Agent from the Marketplace.
  • API Key: A HeyGen API key is required.
Activation

Before your users can generate videos, complete the following steps:

  1. Install: Go to Marketplace and install Video Agent.
  2. Add HeyGen API Key: Go to Admin → Settings → Heygen Settings and enter your HeyGen API key.
  3. Register Webhook: Go to Admin → Settings → Video Agent Settings.
  4. Configure Defaults and Modules: Set the default generation mode, orientation, resolution, and modules.
  5. Enable on Plans: Go to Finance → Pricing Plans and enable Video Agent.
Getting Started

Navigate to Video Agent from the side menu. The page shows the video generation input at the top and a grid of recently generated videos below. The session counter at the top left shows how many video sessions have been used.

How to Generate a Video

1. Describe the video

Type a description of the video in the main text field. Describe what the video should be about, the tone, and what it should communicate. Examples from the live platform:

  • “Talk about new AI products that change your business”
  • “Get a real customer perspective that you can trust. We use customer testimonials…”
  • “See how our product demo turns ideas into results fast”
  • “MagicAI is delivering the latest technologies more rapidly than anyone else”

The text field supports up to 10,000 characters. Up to 20 reference files can be attached to steer the result.

2. Configure generation options

Set the video parameters using the controls in the toolbar:

  • Avatar — Auto (HeyGen selects), or choose a specific avatar from the available library
  • Voice — Auto (HeyGen selects), or choose a specific voice
  • Look Pack — Auto, or select a visual style pack that defines the overall look of the video
  • Brand — Auto, or apply a saved brand configuration (colours, logo, fonts)
  • Duration — Auto, 15 sec, 30 sec, or 1 min
  • Orientation — Auto, Portrait (9:16), or Landscape (16:9)

3. Additional options (More)

Click More in the toolbar to access:

  • Custom instructions — Free-text field for specific directives that apply to this generation (e.g. tone, pacing, on-screen text requirements)

4. Generation mode

Two generation modes are available via the mode selector:

  • One-shot — The video is generated directly from the description without a preview step
  • Review storyboard — The system generates a storyboard first for review and approval before the final video is rendered

5. Generate

Click Send. The video is sent to HeyGen for processing. While rendering, the video card shows a Processing state in the Recent Videos grid. Once complete, the video is available for playback and download.

Recent Videos

The Recent Videos grid shows all previously generated videos with their description and timestamp. Click Select All to select multiple videos for bulk actions. Each video card shows a thumbnail and the prompt used to generate it.

Admin Controls

All Video Agent settings are managed at Admin → Settings → Video Agent Settings. The HeyGen API key is managed separately at Admin → Settings → Heygen Settings.

Webhook — The webhook URL is displayed and pre-configured. Click Re-register endpoint to register or re-register it with HeyGen. HeyGen pushes render completion events to this URL, verified with HMAC-SHA256. Click Remove endpoint to deregister it. Polling runs as a fallback even without the webhook.

Generation Defaults — Platform-wide defaults for all new video sessions:

  • Default Mode — One-shot or Review storyboard
  • Default Orientation — Auto, Portrait, or Landscape
  • Default Resolution — 720P, 1080P, or 4K
  • Status Poll Interval (seconds) — How often the platform polls HeyGen for render status when the webhook is not delivering

Modules — Toggle individual HeyGen modules on or off to control which features are exposed to your users. All modules are on by default except Translation (disabled by default because the Video Dubbing extension already covers it):

  • Video Agent — The core video generation feature
  • Styles — Visual style packs
  • Videos — Access to existing generated videos
  • Avatars — Avatar selection
  • Voices — Voice selection
  • Assets — Uploaded assets for use in videos
  • Templates — Pre-built video templates
  • Brand — Saved brand configurations
  • Lipsync — Lip sync on avatar videos
  • Clipping — Video clipping tools
  • Filler — Background and filler content
  • Proofread — AI proofreading of scripts before rendering
  • Hyperframes — Advanced frame control
  • Batches — Batch video generation
  • Translation — Video translation. Disabled by default (use Video Dubbing extension instead)

Click Save after making any changes.

⚠️ Note: The HeyGen API key is shared with other HeyGen-powered features on the platform (e.g. Video
Dubbing when HeyGen is selected as provider). Adding or changing the key at Heygen Settings affects all
features that use HeyGen.
